NAE Grand Challenges PostedOctober 9, 2008 On October 6, 2008 the NAE hosted a symposium on the Grand Challenges project, where two panels consisting of luminaries from industry, media, and the presidential campaigns took part in a discussion about the challenges. The event was moderated by former CNN anchor Aaron Brown and included Thomas Friedman of the New York Times; former Hewlett-Packard CEO Carly Fiorina; Daniel Sieberg of CBS News; Bernadine Healy of US News and World Report; Paul Kaminski, former U.S. Under Secretary of Defense; and Grand Challenges committee members William Perry, Alec Broers, and Ray Kurzweil.
