“GCSP offered me the opportunity to push the boundary of my engineering curriculum to further realize the thrill and importance of an interdisciplinary and collaborative approach to address challenging bioengineering research questions. Building on this after my undergraduate education, I spent a year in the Netherlands working in a diverse institute of scientists gaining skills and broadening my perspective in cell and molecular biology and polymer synthesis. With this experience and my engineering background, I am applying engineering principles to study cancer cell mechanics, an emerging perspective in oncology studies, and to further understand cell behavior for my graduate research work. An exciting Grand Challenge of its own!”
