"As part of my GCSP, I went to Cape Town, South Africa to work with other students from around the world to understand water challenges in Africa. I also worked with Engineers Without Borders Australia on my Honours thesis to make school outreach programs more inclusive. These programs aim to encourage minority students to consider careers in STEM fields and diversify our profession. This project led me to my PhD, where I'm working to craft modern, more socially aware engineers who work interdisciplinarily to create more inclusive and appropriate technology, improving the quality of others' lives and solving our grand challenges."
